The Funkadelic Family Bundle is a specially curated collection of vinyl featuring the essential records that started it all to the newest generation carrying the torch. Below is what's included.
Funkadelic - Funkadelic
Released in 1970, Funkadelic’s self-titled debut was a radical collision of psychedelic rock, gospel, blues, and soul. The record arrived as a chaotic, genre-defying statement that redefined the possibilities of music. Where Motown aimed for polish and crossover appeal, Funkadelic dove headfirst into distortion, improvisation, and spiritual ambiguity, offering a sound as gritty and unpredictable as the era itself. Backed by a ferocious young band — including Eddie Hazel, Billy Bass Nelson, Tawl Ross, Tiki Fulwood, and Mickey Atkins — the album rejected convention in favor of raw groove and existential noise.
As part of Org Music’s Westbound Records reissue series, this edition restores the album’s full cosmic impact across multiple formats.
Funkadelic - Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow
Free Your Mind And Your Ass Will Follow is the second album from funk innovators Funkadelic. Arriving in 1970 mere months after their trailblazing self titled debut Funkadelic, the record saw the band honing their song craft, while still allowing plenty of space for mind-bending exploratory jams. The album’s origin story famously involved a single marathon session on LSD. It marked the official introduction of legendary keyboardist Bernie Worrell, and would go on to chart at No. 92 on Billboard’s Pop chart.
As part of Org Music’s Westbound Records reissue series, this edition restores the album’s full sonic impact across multiple formats. The vinyl is all analog, mastered direct from tape to lathe by Dave Gardner at DSG Mastering, and come in gatefold jackets. Gardner and restoration specialist Catherine Vericolli archived and restored the original master tapes at 54 Sound Studios in Ferndale, Michigan, with assistance from in-house engineer Nick King
Bernie Worrell - Wave From the WOOniverse
Wave From the WOOniverse is a double album from legendary keyboardist Bernie Worrell. As prolific as they come, Worrell was best known as a longtime member of Parliament-Funkadelic, in addition to collaborating with the likes of Talking Heads, Les Claypool, Gov’t Mule, Mos Def, and countless others. His latest collection of compositions was completed by a formidable cast of musicians across fourteen different cities, in order to finalize his singular vision. Among the many features are contributions from Bootsy Collins, Jerry Harrison, Leo Nocentelli, Sean Ono Lennon, and Fred Schneider, as well as a previously unissued Funkadelic cut.
The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown: Volume 1
The legendary debut that sparked a funk revolution.
In 2007, 35 musicians from 17 world-class bands gathered in a historic mansion in New Orleans' French Quarter with one mission: to capture the raw, unscripted magic of a late-night jam session. The result is Volume 1, an explosive blend of deep-pocket funk, psychedelic rock, and soulful improvisation that sounds as fresh today as the day it was cut.
After the initial New Orleans sessions, the collective was personally invited by George Clinton to his private studio in Tallahassee to put the finishing touches on the record. Featuring some of the final recordings of P-Funk Legends Garry Shider & Belita Woods This album is a must-have for any serious vinyl collector.
The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown - Volume 2
Where Volume 1 introduced the magic, Volume 2 doubles down. Over 60 musicians stepped into these sessions, including members of Parliament-Funkadelic, Earth, Wind & Fire, Fishbone, Bootsy’s Rubber Band, Living Colour, James Brown Band, Kool & the Gang, the Meters and more. These weren’t drive-by or phoned in features, everyone came to build, experiment, and leave their fingerprints on the music.
From fat bass lines and blazing horn breaks to heavy guitars, psych-soaked keys, and conscious, fearless lyrics, Volume 2 pushes funk into a perpetual deep groove. Every track stands on its own, but together they tell a bigger story. One about freedom, collaboration, and the raw joy of making music with no rules.
