$ 50.00
The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown joins forces with famed artist Marq Spusta for this spectacular collectors set celebrating the bands 10 year Anniversary.  Theses sets includes two (2) signed 7"x7" prints, two (2) Stickers, a 7" Vinyl Record of "The Beauty of Pretty/Wake Me Up", and a download card of The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown "Volume 1" with special artwork by Marq.
The Beauty of Pretty features George Clinton and Sidney Barnes reuniting on vocals for the first time after decades since they had last seen one another.  George and Sid wrote songs together back in the 60s and 70s with the most recognizable work being the Funkadelic song "I'll Bet You".   We reunited George and Sidney to write lyrics and record vocals for the Big Ol' Nasty Getdown "Volume 1" which was a special moment. Within minutes of the reunion, George and Sid started working on The Beauty of Pretty playfully tossing old lines back and fourth that they had from back in the day as if no time had passed.
Wake Me Up features Atlanta based singer song writer Ralph Roddenbery and the late Belita Woods of Parliament-Funkadelic and Brain Storm.  Wake Me Up came to life at the first gathering of The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown in New Orleans December of 2007.  Ralph had travelled through the night to meet us at the house we had all been staying at on Royal Street. Most of us didn't know he had even arrived so we all left for the studio pretty early that morning without him. Ralph ended up sleeping through his alarm and arrived late to the studio while we were playing around with this musical arrangement Alvin Lee of the Lee Boys had been riffing on.  Ralph heard this as he was walking into the studio and came into the room singing "Wake Me Up, Don't let me sleep too long, because I don't want to miss what's going on" It instantly stuck and Belita started singing along.  Belita had always wanted to be on a "Country" song so this was a very special moment for her.  She would call Ralph "Mr. Song" in her voice that would instantly bring a smile to your face when you heard it. Sadly Belita passed away during the final stages of the release of the album and never got a chance to hear the finished song and record.  This record is dedicated to Ms. Belita Woods.
